IN LOVING MEMORY of Sylvia Antionette Broussard
On August 1, 1955, Sylvia Antionette, a beautiful baby girl was born to the proud parents James Brown and Mattie Russell in Kannapolis, NC. Sylvia attended her formal education at G.W. Carver and A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis, NC. She went on later to pursue obtaining her Minister’s License at Rowan Cabarrus Community College.
Sylvia always cared about people, had a gentle spirit, was very kind hearted and a very loving person.  She had a genuine love for children.  Sylvia’s family became her greatest inspiration as her exceptional bond with her children and grandchildren fostered an atmosphere filled with joy and laughter, fueling their cherished moments together.  One of the greatest gifts she possessed was the art of being a great listener and telling people about the love of God.  She was a devout woman of God and truly believed in sharing with others whatever God placed on her heart to share. She would always speak what was on her mind.

A woman of deep Faith, Sylvia’s spiritual journey began at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church where she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was actively involved in the gospel choir and was the youth group leader. She then journeyed to Blessed Assurance where her Faith continued to flourish. Her journey then led her to Unity in Christ Worship Center where she was active in their ministry. Her final journey was to Trinity United Methodist Church where she also sang in the choir and was an active member in their bible study. She also Worked as a loving custodian at Trinity United Methodist church for over 32 years and retired in April 2018.

Sylvia departed this life at 12:38 am on July 20, 2023.  This world has lost a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She will be sorely missed forever as she rests in the loving arms of her heavenly father.

Preceded her in death were her son-Jermaine Wilkes, Father-James Brown, Mother-Mattie Russell, Grandmother-Eva Mae Brown, Grandmother-Beulah Harris Russell, Grandfather-Roy Buddy Russell, and Brother-Angelo Brown.
